Essendon has surged to a powerful 29-point win over the Western Bulldogs 156 96 to 913 67 under the Friday night lights. The Bombers put the game away with a run of six-straight goals in the second quarter.
Despite leading clearances 12-4 at quarter-time, Essendon was outmuscled in the midfield as the Bulldogs ended the match ahead 48-26. Marcus Bontempelli and Tom Liberatore dominated the Bombers, but it was Essendon's forward line that proved too strong.
Before the action tonight, Charlie Cameron received a one-match suspension for his actions in Brisbane's 22-point win over Melbourne on Thursday.
