Bellingham the hero with the winning goal
England have topped their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying group after a 1-0 victory over Serbia at Arena AufSchalke.
Jude Bellingham scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute and the Three Lions held on to win despite the best efforts of Serbia, who caused England a number of problems throughout the match.
The win sees England finish top of Group C with 20 points, six ahead of Italy in second place. They will now go into the knockout stages as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
England manager Gareth Southgate was delighted with his team's performance, saying: "It was a tough game, but we showed great character and determination to win. Serbia are a good side, but we never gave them an inch. We're now in the knockout stages and anything is possible."
Bellingham was also pleased with his performance, saying: "It's a great feeling to score the winning goal for your country. I'm just glad I could help the team get the win. We're now in the knockout stages and we're going to give it our all to win the tournament."
